It’s here: the annual “be there or be square” church planting jamboree in Orlando known as Exponential. I love the presentations, the faith-forward atmosphere, and the camaraderie that’s unique among those seeking to multiply the work of God on this earth. When I got my start in church planting thirty years ago I never imagined that we would one day see 5,000 people in one place devoted to seeing new works started. It’s thrilling!
My part will be to work with the denominational and network leaders’ pre-conference intensive, and this year I’m joined by Steve Pike. (That starts on Monday at 1:00, and it concludes Tuesday by noon.) Steve and I have just finished writing our new how-to-lead-a-church-planting organization book called Leading Church Multiplication: Locally, Regionally, Nationally. Both of us have had seen God’s blessings in those three arenas, so we’ve captured our learnings in a book. It’s expected to release this summer and we will be presenting according to some of our chapters.
Also, Monday night, I’ll be joining Dr. Jerry Sheveland (president of Converge) and a number of others for a dinner discussion on mentoring aspiring church multiplication leaders through an entity to be known as The US Alliance for Church Multiplication.
Look for me. I will not be dressed as cool as many of the attendees, but I’ll be hanging around with them. I would love to encourage you and be encouraged.
