I’m excited and humbled by the response to my most recent book with Steve Pike. But don’t take my word for it. Read the endorsements below and then get your copy here:
“Here is a book that is built on solid experiences of two veteran church planting leaders.
I would have so appreciated having this book when I sought to multiply churches in France and in Australia. It not only deals with strategy but has an essential study on “Spiritual Dependence”.
It comes from a North American context but a wise church planter or leader of church planters will be able to contextualize this for use in other countries.
I found chapter 22 to be the only study I have seen on what they call “Stewarding Opportunities by Managing Environmental Risk.” The explanation of a practice where there failures by just assuming “that anyone who lived Jesus and used a standard direct mail piece could plant a church” to assessing and then mentoring church planters lead to a 80% success rate in church planting. But then that was heightened to a 90% success rate by taking into consideration what they call “environmental risk factors” Church planters working in other contexts will need to see how this might be adapted to their cultural situation but will be helped by seeing what Nebel and Pike have learned.
Anyone seeking to develop effective church planters into various contexts will want to think through and use this material to see the maximum effectiveness in church planting. Church planters, those training church planters, leaders of churches planting churches will all profit from this extensive and helpful book. I recommend it highly.”
I just finished reading your and Steve Pike’s book last week. It is a well thought through and comprehensive strategy with pertinent and memorable exhortations through-out. I found it stimulating on a number of fronts (whether recruiting, mentoring, vision casting, administration, or handling resistance) and appreciated especially the spirit of devotion to Christ in which it was written.” -International Missionary to Muslim Country”
I finished your book. A big thank you to you and Steve. The wise practicality was a steady flow. Writing for the local, regional and national levels meets us squarely at our point of need. I took note of quotes you used from some of my favorites – Logan, Clinton, George, etc. I give the Holy Spirit credit for tightly weaving solid truths into the fabric of the church; there is a simplicity in these truths if we listen above the noise. Also the sports analogies worked well for this old jock.” -Greg Williams, Grace Communion International
